TONY Pulis says he is “desperate” to get striker Glenn Murray back in the Crystal Palace team after his return from injury.
Speaking ahead of Palace’s game with Manchester United on Saturday evening, the Palace gaffer said he was looking forward to last season’s top scorer’s return.
“Glenn’s got another week under his belt, he’s trained really hard and he’s a natural goalscorer, he got 30-odd goals last year before he got injured so we’re desperate to get him back and get him in the team,” Pulis said.
The former Stoke City manager also quipped that one more point than the team who finishes 18th would keep his side up.
He added: “The important thing is you try and go out and win every game. I don’t think we can look any further than the next game in this league.
“If you win games, you’ve got to keep your feet on the ground and keep pushing forward and that’s how it’s got to be from now until the end of the season.”
And the Welshman once again praised the Eagles’ support, who he thinks are a vital part of the team’s success.
Pulis said: “The supporters have been wonderful, they’ve been absolutely magnificent. They’ve picked the baton up and really led from the front. The whole experience of a Premier League game like that at Palace starts with the supporters. They have really, really led the team.
“The players really understand and appreciate the support they’ve got. The supporters understand how difficult this task is and how difficult it will be. They’ve been absolutely fantastic and a credit to football supporters in general.
