Something for the weekend
At our recent local group visit to Kingston we saw the products of a recent commission in 3D by Terry Tracey running on his Allhallows layout.
The ACV railbus was seen as the potential saviour of many uneconomic branchlines however like many prototypes it was a failure (a fitter had to travel with it at all times as it was so unreliable).
However the 3mm version is not so. Terry had got someone to do the CAD drawing and then Shapeways did the business. As 3D cannot do windows Terry had to add the glazing and window.
Terry sourced a motor bogie to go in the centre car and along with a fine paint job has turned it into a fine model.

Fascinating insight into how they produce their models in this case the SR class 71.
Saturday saw myself and the good Mrs. Driscoll take a circular 2 and half hour walk from Weymouth Bay and back via Littlemoor, Bincombe and Preston ending up with a pub lunch at the Bridge Inn – very enjoyable walk, great scenery only downside was the wind but all in all we both felt that we had achieved something.
