Today I visited the Chatham show, the first time in a couple of years I have attended after being a bit disappointed last time I went….
The show featured a wide range of layouts, with quite a number of no interest whatsoever. It also struck me that the show wasn’t too busy around Sunday lunchtime, and some operators seemed content to stand behind their layouts talking amongst themselves without running anything, despite people standing in front loosing interest, which isn’t great!
Anyhow, the stand out layout for me was Smeerdyk by Horst Wurst, a stunning recreation of a Dutch chemical works, displaying amazing levels of detail throughout, with plenty of view blocks between the trains and the viewing public, in fact the trains were of secondary importance to the scene, as it should be….
Also catching my eye was Ravenscroft Sidings, in P4, which I have seen before but now…
