Railways & other things

Ashford (Kent)

We visited Ashford for the first time yesterday.

I had the chance to wander round the town which had a proud railway heritage been home to the South Eastern & Chatham railway works a and now a major hub for the Channel Tunnel as Ashford International.

One surprise find was a World War 1 tank – I believe that Ashford railway works was used to build some.

Ashford presents a mix of new and old together and I would be happy to visit again.
