Far from ‘improvement’ – will the new May 20th timetable affect you? (Thameslink Edition)
From Sunday 20th May, there will be big changes to most trains in the country, however Thameslink in particular. Thameslink runs rail services between Bedford, Luton towards Brighton and Sevenoaks going through the core of London. The new timetable change will see ‘new journey opportunities’ and ‘faster journey times’ claimed Thameslink, but doing research has proven otherwise.
The new services will include Rainham (Kent) to Luton/Bedford and Plumstead to Kentish Town. These will all be run by Thameslink using the newer Class 700 units. This means all Southeastern services between Gillingham and London Charing Cross will no longer run. Instead, these services will start from Dartford to provide more services between Dartford and London.
Unfortunately we have heard that not enough drivers have been trained to run trains between Luton and Rainham meaning that your ‘improved’ services may not be around as much as first hoped. There is the off…
