Tram’s Elmers End branch on track with £3.3m from TfL
The Elmers End branch of the tram network is to be upgraded, including double tracking of the branch line and a second platform at the tram stop, as part of £24million-worth of transport infrastructure improvements around the capital announced this week by the Mayor of London.
The Elmers End branch line of the tram network is about to receive a £9m boost
In the announcement from City Hall, the Mayor’s office said that the “Elmers End tram station will provide additional facilities to enable service improvements and address reliability issues on the network.
“Once delivered, this would support growth in Croydon and Bromley and future growth along all parts of the tram network.”
The Elmers End project will cost an estimated £9million, with £3.3million coming from the Growth Fund.
